Over the period under review, production reached the peak level at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, production failed to regain momentum.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, India (+7.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +7.7% from 2012-2022. While the share of China (+2.5 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest non-electric bakery oven supplier in Asia, comprising 73% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 3.4% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in China stood at +7.7%.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 40% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a mild descent. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while China amounted to $X per unit.

In 2022, purchases abroad of non-electric bakery ovens decreased by -18.9% to X units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then declined sharply in the following year.

In value terms, non-electric bakery oven imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 29%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Imports by Country

In 2022, India (X units) represented the largest importer of non-electric bakery ovens, constituting 35% of total imports. Pakistan (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Malaysia (X units), Indonesia (X units) and the Philippines (X units). All these countries together took near 38% share of total imports. The following importers - Singapore (X units), Iraq (X units), Myanmar (X units), Sri Lanka (X units), Yemen (X units) and Japan (X units) - together made up 14% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to non-electric bakery oven imports into India stood at +24.4%. At the same time, the Philippines (+25.2%), Myanmar (+20.1%), Pakistan (+19.1%), Yemen (+18.1%), Sri Lanka (+18.0%), Indonesia (+11.8%), Malaysia (+8.7%), Iraq (+7.5%), Singapore (+6.8%) and Japan (+6.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, the Philippines emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +25.2% from 2012-2022. While the share of India (+28 p.p.), Pakistan (+9.8 p.p.), the Philippines (+3.9 p.p.), Malaysia (+3.2 p.p.), Indonesia (+2.9 p.p.) and Myanmar (+1.6 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, the largest non-electric bakery oven importing markets in Asia were Indonesia ($X), India ($X) and Iraq ($X), with a combined 39% share of total imports. Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Yemen and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 13%.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +18.2%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Asia stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 44% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a noticeable reduction. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per unit), while Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+3.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
