At the same time, Malaysia (+37.9%), South Korea (+21.5%), Turkey (+18.4%) and China (+6.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Malaysia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia, with a CAGR of +37.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, India (-1.4%) and Indonesia (-14.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the largest graphite non-electrical articles supplier in Asia, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Korea ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a 5.9% share.

In Japan, graphite non-electrical articles exports increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Korea (+16.3% per year) and China (+9.0% per year).

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 57%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, leveling off in the following year.

At the same time, Turkey (+28.7%), Vietnam (+23.3%), India (+14.9%), Malaysia (+11.8%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+11.5%) and South Korea (+4.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Turkey emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +28.7% from 2012-2021. Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of China (+14 p.p.), Turkey (+5 p.p.), India (+2.9 p.p.) and Vietnam (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of South Korea (-5.2 p.p.) and Japan (-7.7 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
