In value terms, objective lens exports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt setback. The level of export peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Thailand represented the largest exporter of objective lenses for cameras, projectors or photographic enlargers or reducers in Asia, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 59% of total exports in 2021. China (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 13% share, followed by Japan (10%). Malaysia (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), South Korea (X units) and Vietnam (X units) held a minor share of total exports.
Thailand was also the fastest-growing in terms of the objective lenses for cameras, projectors or photographic enlargers or reducers exports, with a CAGR of +15.7% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Vietnam (+8.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In terms of the main exporting countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +11.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 20%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+2.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, China (X units) and Thailand (X units) represented the major importers of objective lenses for cameras, projectors or photographic enlargers or reducers in Asia, together mixing up 37% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X units), Japan (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Vietnam (X units), South Korea (X units) and the Philippines (X units), together comprising a 42% share of total imports. The United Arab Emirates (X units), Malaysia (X units), Indonesia (X units), Singapore (X units) and India (X units) took a little share of total imports.

Among the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +27.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per unit, falling by -4.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the import price increased by 18% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+10.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
