Turkey (X tons), Afghanistan (X tons), Pakistan (X tons), Yemen (X tons), Kazakhstan (X tons), Myanmar (X tons), Iran (X tons) and Tajikistan (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to onion and shallot exports from India stood at +3.4%. At the same time, Uzbekistan (+48.9%), Myanmar (+35.7%), Afghanistan (+16.1%), Pakistan (+12.9%), Iran (+12.3%), Kazakhstan (+7.1%), Turkey (+3.1%), China (+3.0%), Tajikistan (+2.9%) and Yemen (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, China ($X), India ($X) and Pakistan ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 78% share of total exports. Yemen, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 16%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Uzbekistan, with a CAGR of +46.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
