The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. At the same time, Malaysia (+15.6%), Singapore (+7.5%), Indonesia (+6.7%), South Korea (+6.4%), Turkey (+4.4%), the United Arab Emirates (+3.1%), Thailand (+3.0%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Malaysia emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia, with a CAGR of +15.6% from 2012-2022. By contrast, China (-1.7%), Israel (-4.3%) and Japan (-5.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of India (+18 p.p.), South Korea (+2.8 p.p.), Malaysia (+2.3 p.p.) and Indonesia (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2022, the share of Japan (-5.4 p.p.), China (-7.4 p.p.) and Israel (-11.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest hydrazine and hydroxylamine derivatives importing markets in Asia were India ($X), China ($X) and Japan ($X), together comprising 52% of total imports. South Korea, Turkey, Indonesia, Israel, Thailand, Taiwan (Chinese), Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 40%.
Among the main importing countries, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +16.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -2.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 13% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
