The following exporters - Australia (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) - together made up 10% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +9.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest activated carbon supplying countries in Asia-Pacific were China ($X), India ($X) and Sri Lanka ($X), with a combined 70% share of total exports. The Philippines, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), China (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), India (X tons), Sri Lanka (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Australia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Thailand (X tons) and the Philippines (X tons) represented roughly 95% of total imports in 2022.

In value terms, China ($X), Japan ($X) and South Korea ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 61% share of total imports. India, Taiwan (Chinese), Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +15.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 9.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 12% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the Philippines ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
