The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, glass bottle, jar and container exports surged to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +112.7% against 2012 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China was the major exporter of bottles, jars and other containers of glass in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 66% of total exports in 2021. India (X units) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units). All these countries together took near 21% share of total exports. Thailand (X units) and Indonesia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to glass bottle, jar and container exports from China stood at +4.1%. At the same time, India (+8.3%), Thailand (+4.0%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest glass bottle, jar and container supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with an 8.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 4.9% share.

In China, glass bottle, jar and container exports increased at an average annual rate of +10.9% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+7.0% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+2.0% per year).

In 2021, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 12% against the previous year. Export price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine-year period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 45%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
