China dominates exports structure, finishing at X tons, which was near 74% of total exports in 2021. Bangladesh (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 6.1% share, followed by Vietnam (5.7%). These countries were followed by Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, which together accounted for a further 21%.

Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +19.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 1.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild reduction. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
