Australia was the largest exporter of brewing or distilling dregs and waste in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 58% of total exports in 2022. Vietnam (X tons) took a 15% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by India (7.7%), China (6.8%) and South Korea (5%). Singapore (X tons) and Nepal (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

Exports from Australia increased at an average annual rate of +16.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, South Korea (+74.9%), India (+70.2%) and Nepal (+48.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, Australia ($X) remains the largest brewing dregs supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 59% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by India, with a 9.1% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Australia totaled +20.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Vietnam (+0.0% per year) and India (+84.5% per year).

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 17% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.2%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 22%.
