From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to cauliflower and broccoli imports into Malaysia stood at +5.4%. At the same time, Hong Kong SAR (+13.8%), Macao SAR (+8.7%), Thailand (+3.4%) and Singapore (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hong Kong SAR emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +13.8% from 2012-2022. By contrast, South Korea (-3.7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (-4.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Malaysia (+8 p.p.) and Hong Kong SAR (+5.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while South Korea and Taiwan (Chinese) saw its share reduced by -4.5% and -6.5% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cauliflower and broccoli in Asia-Pacific, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Malaysia totaled +11.4%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+2.9% per year) and Thailand (+6.8% per year).
