The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 13%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X square meters in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The purchases of the three major importers of ceramic tiles, namely South Korea, the Philippines and Thailand, represented more than third of total import. It was followed by Malaysia (X square meters), Australia (X square meters), Cambodia (X square meters), Myanmar (X square meters), Indonesia (X square meters) and Japan (X square meters), together constituting a 38% share of total imports. The following importers - Nepal (X square meters), Taiwan (Chinese) (X square meters), China (X square meters) and Singapore (X square meters) - together made up 11% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Nepal (with a CAGR of +15.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest ceramic tile importing markets in Asia-Pacific were the Philippines ($X), Australia ($X) and South Korea ($X), together comprising 40% of total imports. These countries were followed by Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, Taiwan (Chinese), Singapore and Nepal, which together accounted for a further 47%.
Among the main importing countries, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +17.9%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per square meter, picking up by 10% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per square meter in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per square meter), while Nepal ($X per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
