It was distantly followed by Australia (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Singapore (X tons), together committing a 43% share of total exports. The following exporters - Japan (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and India (X tons) - together made up 10% of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, India, with a CAGR of +33.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+7.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The following importers - Hong Kong SAR (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Thailand (X tons), India (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Afghanistan (X tons) - together made up 19% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to chocolate bar with filling imports into China stood at +20.3%. At the same time, India (+21.0%), Afghanistan (+12.1%), the Philippines (+11.9%), Australia (+4.5%), New Zealand (+3.1%) and Malaysia (+2.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +21.0% from 2012-2021. By contrast, South Korea (-2.1%), Hong Kong SAR (-3.4%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-3.6%), Singapore (-3.6%), Japan (-3.6%) and Thailand (-4.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+28 p.p.), India (+1.7 p.p.) and the Philippines (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Taiwan (Chinese) (-1.9 p.p.), Thailand (-2.9 p.p.), Hong Kong SAR (-3.9 p.p.), South Korea (-5.5 p.p.), Singapore (-6.3 p.p.) and Japan (-9.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest chocolate bar with filling importing markets in Asia-Pacific were China ($X), Japan ($X) and Singapore ($X), together accounting for 48% of total imports. Australia, Hong Kong SAR, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan (Chinese), India and Afghanistan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.
The Philippines, with a CAGR of +16.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the import price increased by 7.4%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Afghanistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
