The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 7.6% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, the largest chocolate bar with filling importing markets in Asia-Pacific were China ($X), Japan ($X) and Singapore ($X), together accounting for 48% of total imports. Australia, Hong Kong SAR, New Zealand, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Taiwan (Chinese), India and Afghanistan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.

The Philippines, with a CAGR of +16.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
