The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the production volume increased by 1,853%. As a result, production attained the peak level of $X. From 2016 to 2022, production growth remained at a lower figure.

Exports in Asia-Pacific
In 2022, the amount of civil helicopters exported in Asia-Pacific fell significantly to X units, waning by -20.3% against the previous year. Overall, exports showed a mild descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 2,402% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, helicopter exports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a perceptible increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +25.9% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 80%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
The shipments of the six major exporters of civil helicopters, namely Japan, New Zealand, Australia, China, Singapore and Hong Kong SAR, represented more than two-thirds of total export. The following exporters - India (X units), Malaysia (X units), Indonesia (X units), Thailand (X units), Sri Lanka (X units), Papua New Guinea (X units) and South Korea (X units) - together made up 23% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for South Korea (with a CAGR of +18.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest helicopter supplying countries in Asia-Pacific were China ($X), Singapore ($X) and Thailand ($X), with a combined 60% share of total exports. Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
Among the main exporting countries, Sri Lanka, with a CAGR of +44.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, picking up by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a noticeable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 3,806%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Japan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+40.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Asia-Pacific
In 2022, supplies from abroad of civil helicopters decreased by -3.8% to X units, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, helicopter imports expanded rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 82%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Australia represented the key importer of civil helicopters in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of imports resulting at X units, which was approx. 40% of total imports in 2022. Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) took a 22% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by New Zealand (11%). The following importers - China (X units), French Polynesia (X units), Malaysia (X units), South Korea (X units), the Philippines (X units), Japan (X units), India (X units), Thailand (X units) and Singapore (X units) - together made up 20% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (with a CAGR of +46.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), the Philippines ($X) and India ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together accounting for 40% of total imports.
The Philippines, with a CAGR of +65.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, growing by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the import price increased by 86%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while French Polynesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
