The level of export peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

China represented the major exporting country with an export of around X tons, which finished at 67% of total exports. India (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Indonesia (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 21% share of total exports. South Korea (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to disperse dye exports from China stood at -1.2%. At the same time, India (+15.2%), South Korea (+7.9%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.5%) and Singapore (+1.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +15.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Indonesia (-1.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of India and South Korea increased by +11 and +1.9 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest disperse dye supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 58% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Indonesia, with a 7% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China amounted to +3.5%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (+18.5% per year) and Indonesia (+4.6% per year).

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -2% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.7%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 33%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+7.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of disperse dyes and preparations based thereon was finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a mild decline. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, disperse dye imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The countries with the highest levels of disperse dye imports in 2021 were Indonesia (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and South Korea (X tons), together finishing at 56% of total import. Vietnam (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 9.2% share, followed by Bangladesh (7%), Pakistan (6.1%) and China (5.5%).

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +12.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest disperse dye importing markets in Asia-Pacific were Indonesia ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and Vietnam ($X), with a combined 49% share of total imports. These countries were followed by South Korea, China, Bangladesh and Pakistan, which together accounted for a further 29%.

Among the main importing countries, Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +15.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, approximately equating the previous year. Import price indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +6.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, disperse dye import price decreased by -6.5% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 25%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while South Korea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
