The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +41.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 39% against the previous year. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 12%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, leveling off in the following year.

In value terms, dry vegetable imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.5% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 11%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

In 2022, Japan (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) represented the key importers of dry vegetables in Asia-Pacific, together amounting to approx. 37% of total imports. South Korea (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by Malaysia (X tons), Nepal (X tons), Australia (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and Thailand (X tons).
