South Korea (X units) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (8.9%) and India (4.9%). Japan (X units) and Thailand (X units) held a minor share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, South Korea (+22.9%), India (+13.8%) and Thailand (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +22.9% from 2012-2021. Taiwan (Chinese) experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-1.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. South Korea (+9.7 p.p.) and India (+2.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Japan and Taiwan (Chinese) saw its share reduced by -4.2% and -5.9% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest automotive lighting supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 42% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with an 18% share.

In China, automotive lighting exports expanded at an average annual rate of +8.6% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.1% per year) and South Korea (+15.2% per year).
