At the same time, South Korea (+33.7%), India (+21.9%), Singapore (+13.4%) and Japan (+11.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, South Korea emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +33.7% from 2012-2021. While the share of South Korea (+6.2 p.p.), Japan (+4.6 p.p.), Singapore (+3.9 p.p.) and India (+1.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of China (-11.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest filter paper supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with a 20% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 10% share.

In terms of the main importing countries, Myanmar, with a CAGR of +30.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 15% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
