In value terms, folding boxboard exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China was the key exporting country with an export of about X tons, which recorded 42% of total exports. India (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by South Korea (X tons), New Zealand (X tons) and Australia (X tons). All these countries together took approx. 38% share of total exports. Japan (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to folding boxboard exports from China stood at +7.2%. At the same time, India (+36.9%), Thailand (+9.2%), South Korea (+8.7%), New Zealand (+6.6%), Indonesia (+6.4%), Japan (+1.8%), Australia (+1.7%) and Singapore (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +36.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-8.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest folding boxboard supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 44% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Korea ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by India, with a 9.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China totaled +8.0%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Korea (+9.2% per year) and India (+32.4% per year).
