Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton), while India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+15.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Japan ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 50% share of total imports. Bangladesh, Taiwan (Chinese), Singapore, Malaysia, India, Thailand, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 45%.
Among the main importing countries, Malaysia, with a CAGR of +27.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, waning by -3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bangladesh (+8.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
