The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, growing by 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+1.2%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In value terms, South Korea ($X), India ($X) and Indonesia ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 40% share of total imports. Vietnam, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines, New Zealand and Myanmar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
Among the main importing countries, New Zealand, with a CAGR of +9.4%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -6.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price faced a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the import price increased by 43% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per unit), while Myanmar ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
