Over the period under review, consumption recorded a perceptible descent. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of the market remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imines Production in Asia-Pacific
In value terms, imines production shrank modestly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, production reached the peak level of $X. From 2017 to 2021, production growth remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports in Asia-Pacific
In 2021, overseas shipments of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof increased by 24% to X tons, rising for the fifth year in a row after two years of decline. Overall, exports recorded a strong increase. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, imines exports soared to $X in 2021. Total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +94.6% against 2016 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) was the largest exporter of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof, comprising 58% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons), together achieving a 34% share of total exports. Japan (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Indonesia (with a CAGR of +79.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest imines supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 60% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Japan, with a 7.7% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China totaled +9.1%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: India (+8.9% per year) and Japan (-2.7% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, growing by 7.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the export price increased by 9.6%. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while Indonesia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (-0.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

For the tenth year in a row, Asia-Pacific recorded growth in supplies from abroad of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof, which increased by 18% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a remarkable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 22% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
In value terms, imines imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 23%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons), Japan (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Thailand (X tons), India (X tons), Australia (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Pakistan (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) represented the major importer of imines and their derivatives and salts thereof in Asia-Pacific, achieving 94% of total import.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +28.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported imines and their derivatives and salts thereof in Asia-Pacific, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 9.7% share.
In China, imines imports expanded at an average annual rate of +14.9% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Japan (+5.2% per year) and South Korea (+7.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 1.5% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the import price increased by 13% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
