China dominates exports structure, accounting for X tons, which was near 60% of total exports in 2021. South Korea (X tons) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Vietnam (X tons). All these countries together held near 16% share of total exports. The Philippines (X tons), Thailand (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), India (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Japan (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to wire and cable exports from China stood at +3.3%. At the same time, Vietnam (+12.1%), the Philippines (+7.3%), Thailand (+7.2%), Indonesia (+3.0%), India (+2.6%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +12.1% from 2012-2021. South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest wire and cable supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Vietnam ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by South Korea, with a 6.4% share.
In China, wire and cable exports expanded at an average annual rate of +5.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (+12.4% per year) and South Korea (+1.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, rising by 11% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%.
