Moreover, Marshall Islands emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +21.6% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Vietnam (-4.5%), Indonesia (-5.0%), China (-5.0%), Taiwan (Chinese) (-6.0%), Singapore (-7.4%), Australia (-9.8%) and South Korea (-22.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Japan, Marshall Islands, Bangladesh, the Philippines and Myanmar increased by +18, +2.8, +2.7, +1.8 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported iron/steel stud-link chain in Asia-Pacific, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Singapore, with an 8.9% share.
