Moreover, Indonesia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +68.9% from 2012-2022. In value terms, Bangladesh ($X) remains the largest jute and jute-like fibers supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 76% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by India ($X), with a 17% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value in Bangladesh totaled -6.3%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: India (+8.9% per year) and Indonesia (+75.1% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 2.5% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 27%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per ton), while Bangladesh ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In value terms, jute and jute-like fibers imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, India (X tons) was the main importer of jute and jute-like fibers, generating 55% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Pakistan (X tons), Nepal (X tons) and China (X tons), together creating a 40% share of total imports. South Korea (X tons) took a minor share of total imports.
India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the jute and jute-like fibers imports, with a CAGR of +4.4% from 2012 to 2022. Pakistan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. South Korea (-3.3%), Nepal (-8.1%) and China (-16.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of India and Pakistan increased by +28 and +4.8 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
