Malaysia (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) represented roughly 65% of total exports in 2021. Thailand (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 18% share, followed by China (9.9%). India (X tons) held a little share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Malaysia (with a CAGR of +5.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.
In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Malaysia ($X) and China ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 76% share of total exports.
Malaysia, with a CAGR of +4.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 9.4% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the export price increased by 26%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 13% against the previous year. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The countries with the highest levels of lime imports in 2021 were Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Australia (X tons), India (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons), Papua New Guinea (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons), together resulting at 75% of total import. The Philippines (X tons) held a 5.4% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Singapore (5.1%).

In value terms, the largest lime importing markets in Asia-Pacific were Australia ($X), Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) and Bangladesh ($X), with a combined 42% share of total imports.
Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +31.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Papua New Guinea ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
