China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the machinery for packing or wrapping exports, with a CAGR of +25.8% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Malaysia (+12.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.3%), India (+3.7%) and Japan (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. In value terms, China ($X), Japan ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 68% of total exports. South Korea, Malaysia and India lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Malaysia, with a CAGR of +14.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -26.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 8.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+1.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
