The volume of export peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

China represented the major exporting country with an export of around X units, which recorded 61% of total exports. Japan (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 22% share, followed by South Korea (5.6%). The following exporters - India (X units), Singapore (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) - together made up 7% of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +13.6% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, India (+13.7%) and South Korea (+1.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +13.7% from 2012-2022. Japan experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Taiwan (Chinese) (-4.5%) and Singapore (-7.6%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of China and India increased by +33 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively.

In value terms, China ($X), Japan ($X) and Singapore ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 86% of total exports. India, South Korea and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 8.6%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, India, with a CAGR of +15.8%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -24.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the export price increased by 110%. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2021, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while South Korea ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+18.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Asia-Pacific

For the third consecutive year, Asia-Pacific recorded growth in overseas purchases of machinery for solid-liquid separation, which increased by 1.4% to X units in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 19%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In value terms, solid-liquid separator imports expanded slightly to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +78.6% against 2016 indices. China was the largest importing country with an import of about X units, which recorded 31% of total imports. South Korea (X units) took a 13% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Indonesia (11%), India (10%), Taiwan (Chinese) (7.3%), Australia (6.5%) and Vietnam (5.3%).

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to solid-liquid separator imports into China stood at +1.1%. At the same time, Vietnam (+16.2%), India (+13.5%), South Korea (+11.4%), Indonesia (+5.5%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +16.2% from 2012-2022. By contrast, Australia (-4.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported machinery for solid-liquid separation in Asia-Pacific, comprising 39% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Taiwan (Chinese), with a 7.8% share.

In China, solid-liquid separator imports increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: South Korea (+7.4% per year) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+6.1% per year).
