As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

China represented the key exporter of machinery for the preparation or manufacture of food or drink in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports finishing at X units, which was approx. 50% of total exports in 2021. From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to food manufacture machinery imports into Indonesia stood at +2.8%. At the same time, India (+26.5%), Sri Lanka (+22.4%), China (+18.3%), Singapore (+10.2%), Malaysia (+9.5%), South Korea (+5.2%), New Zealand (+4.3%), Vietnam (+2.7%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+1.6%) displayed positive paces of growth. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X), South Korea ($X) and Australia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 43% share of total imports. Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan (Chinese), New Zealand and Sri Lanka lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 49%.
In terms of the main importing countries, Sri Lanka, with a CAGR of +9.8%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, dropping by -7.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when the import price increased by 25%. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
