The Asia-Pacific mould for glass market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after two years of decline. The total consumption indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The level of consumption peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, mould for glass production rose to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. The total production indicated a resilient expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, production decreased by -15.7% against 2018 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, production hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, production failed to regain momentum.

Exports in Asia-Pacific
In 2021, mould for glass exports in Asia-Pacific surged to X units, growing by 21% on the previous year. Total exports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +101.3% against 2015 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by 30% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
In value terms, mould for glass exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
China prevails in exports structure, finishing at X units, which was near 91% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), comprising a 6.3% share of total exports.
China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the moulds for glass exports, with a CAGR of +7.2% from 2012 to 2021. Taiwan (Chinese) experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of China (+14 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Taiwan (Chinese) (-3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest mould for glass supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 87% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 6.3% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China totaled +7.5%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 8.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit), while China amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.3%).
Mould For Glass Imports
Imports in Asia-Pacific
For the seventh consecutive year, Asia-Pacific recorded growth in overseas purchases of moulds for glass, which increased by 77% to X units in 2021. Overall, imports saw a resilient increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, mould for glass imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China prevails in imports structure, accounting for X units, which was approx. 68% of total imports in 2021. Thailand (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Australia (X units) and India (X units). All these countries together held approx. 16% share of total imports. The Philippines (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Japan (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
China was also the fastest-growing in terms of the moulds for glass imports, with a CAGR of +44.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, the Philippines (+12.3%), Thailand (+2.3%), Japan (+1.7%) and Australia (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Indonesia (-2.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+60 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Japan, Indonesia, Australia, India and Thailand saw its share reduced by -3.4%, -6.1%, -9.7%, -10% and -11.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest mould for glass importing markets in Asia-Pacific were China ($X), Thailand ($X) and Australia ($X), together comprising 53% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Philippines, India, Japan and Indonesia, which together accounted for a further 28%.
Among the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +8.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -32.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 9.5%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (-1.1%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
