Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 33%. The volume of export peaked at X litres in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk exports reduced remarkably to $X in 2022. Total exports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 23% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.
Exports by Country
Thailand was the key exporter of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports finishing at X litres, which was approx. 30% of total exports in 2022. South Korea (X litres) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 13% share, followed by China (9.6%), Lao People's Democratic Republic (9.6%), Malaysia (7.3%), Taiwan (Chinese) (6.2%) and Japan (4.9%). Singapore (X litres) took a minor share of total exports.
Exports from Thailand increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Lao People's Democratic Republic (+26.9%), Japan (+17.5%), China (+6.5%), South Korea (+5.8%) and Singapore (+1.4%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Lao People's Democratic Republic emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +26.9% from 2012-2022. Taiwan (Chinese) and Malaysia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. Lao People's Democratic Republic (+8 p.p.) and Japan (+3.2 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Singapore, Taiwan (Chinese) and Malaysia saw its share reduced by -1.7%, -3.9% and -6.6% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Thailand ($X), South Korea ($X) and Japan ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together accounting for 52% of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese), China, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Malaysia and Singapore lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 32%.
Among the main exporting countries, Lao People's Democratic Republic, with a CAGR of +21.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per litre in 2022, growing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the export price increased by 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices attained the peak figure at $X per litre in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per litre), while Malaysia ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, purchases abroad of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk increased by 2% to X litres, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 31%. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

In 2022, Cambodia (X litres), China (X litres), India (X litres), Hong Kong SAR (X litres), Singapore (X litres), the Philippines (X litres), Japan (X litres), Lao People's Democratic Republic (X litres), Vietnam (X litres), Australia (X litres), New Zealand (X litres) and South Korea (X litres) was the key importer of non-alcoholic beverages, not containing milk in Asia-Pacific, achieving 89% of total import.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Cambodia (with a CAGR of +34.0%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-alcoholic beverage, not containing milk importing markets in Asia-Pacific were China ($X), Cambodia ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a combined 44% share of total imports.
Cambodia, with a CAGR of +45.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per litre in 2022, picking up by 4.8% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 8.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per litre), while Singapore ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
