Exports by Country
In 2021, the Philippines (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) were the major exporters of non-alloy aluminium bars, rods and profiles in Asia-Pacific, together constituting 70% of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) held a 6.6% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Indonesia (5.4%). China (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Indonesia (with a CAGR of +30.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest non-alloy aluminium bar supplying countries in Asia-Pacific were the Philippines ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), together accounting for 69% of total exports. These countries were followed by Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea and China, which together accounted for a further 19%.
Among the main exporting countries, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +25.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 7.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight descent. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per ton), while Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore (+3.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Cambodia (with a CAGR of +17.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Thailand ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 40% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia, Cambodia, South Korea, New Zealand, the Philippines and Myanmar, which together accounted for a further 50%.
Cambodia, with a CAGR of +20.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+4.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
