The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.1% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-rolled bitumen products imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.2% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Japan (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) represented the main importers of non-rolled bitumen products in 2022, resulting at near 29% and 22% of total imports, respectively. India (X tons) held the next position in the ranking, followed by the Philippines (X tons) and Thailand (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 32% share of total imports. The following importers - China (X tons) and New Zealand (X tons) - each reached a 6.8% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by India (with a CAGR of +18.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest non-rolled bitumen products importing markets in Asia-Pacific were Indonesia ($X), Japan ($X) and India ($X), with a combined 65% share of total imports. The Philippines, Thailand, China and New Zealand lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 27%.

In terms of the main importing countries, the Philippines, with a CAGR of +12.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
