The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per unit), while Singapore ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+15.0%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in Asia-Pacific
After three years of decline, purchases abroad of numerically controlled sharpening machines for working metal increased by 14% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 73% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, numerically controlled sharpening machine imports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The Philippines represented the major importer of numerically controlled sharpening machines for working metal in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of imports accounting for X units, which was near 36% of total imports in 2022. China (X units) held a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Singapore (14%), Malaysia (12%) and India (6%). The Philippines was also the fastest-growing in terms of the numerically controlled sharpening machines for working metal imports, with a CAGR of +38.8% from 2012 to 2022.
