In value terms, respiration apparatus imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports posted a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 48%. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, India (X tons) was the largest importer of ozone therapy, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, respiration apparatus, achieving 36% of total imports. Indonesia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 10% share, followed by Singapore (8%), Japan (8%), Hong Kong SAR (5.4%), China (5.3%) and Thailand (5.2%). Australia (X tons), South Korea (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

At the same time, Indonesia (+32.4%), Bangladesh (+20.2%), Thailand (+17.7%), South Korea (+17.4%), Hong Kong SAR (+17.2%), Vietnam (+14.8%), the Philippines (+14.0%), Singapore (+7.1%), Japan (+5.7%), Malaysia (+4.8%), China (+3.8%) and Australia (+1.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. While the share of India (+32 p.p.) and Indonesia (+7.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2012-2021, the share of Malaysia (-3.2 p.p.), Singapore (-8 p.p.), China (-8.8 p.p.), Australia (-9.4 p.p.) and Japan (-10 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported ozone therapy, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, respiration apparatus in Asia-Pacific, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Japan ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 10% share.

In India, respiration apparatus imports expanded at an average annual rate of +39.1% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Japan (+4.2% per year) and China (+5.2% per year).
