By contrast, China (-1.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. Myanmar (+9.9 p.p.), New Zealand (+3 p.p.) and Vietnam (+2.5 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while India saw its share reduced by -9.7% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, India ($X), Thailand ($X) and New Zealand ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 42% share of total exports. Vietnam, China, Myanmar and Indonesia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 18%.

Vietnam, with a CAGR of +36.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, rising by 4% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the export price increased by 29%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while Myanmar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+6.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

Over the period under review, imports of reached the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
