Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, particle accelerator exports shrank remarkably to $X in 2021. Overall, exports showed a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 100%. New Zealand (X units) took the second position in the ranking, followed by Singapore (X units) and South Korea (X units). All these countries together took approx. 24% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Hong Kong SAR (X units) and India (X units) took a little share of total exports.

Exports from Thailand decreased at an average annual rate of -37.2% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, New Zealand (+23.5%), Hong Kong SAR (+19.5%) and Taiwan (Chinese) (+10.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, New Zealand emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +23.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Singapore (-6.6%), India (-16.3%) and South Korea (-17.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of New Zealand (+11 p.p.), Singapore (+7.9 p.p.), South Korea (+4.2 p.p.), Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.5 p.p.), Hong Kong SAR (+2.3 p.p.) and India (+1.5 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Thailand (-32.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, Singapore ($X), New Zealand ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 11% share of total exports.

New Zealand, with a CAGR of +26.8%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, increasing by 194% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 1,003% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+72.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, purchases abroad of particle accelerators increased by 58% to X units, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In general, imports recorded significant growth. In terms of the main importing countries, Malaysia, with a CAGR of +21.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, reducing by -34.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price faced a deep setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the import price increased by 79%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
