In value terms, green peas imports surged to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw a mild decline. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, Thailand (X tons), distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Malaysia (X tons) and Indonesia (X tons) were the major importers of peas (green), together committing 84% of total imports. The following importers - South Korea (X tons) and Singapore (X tons) - each finished at a 5.7% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +42.1%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Thailand ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 63% share of total imports.

In terms of the main importing countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +39.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 6.3% against the previous year. Import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, green peas import price increased by +32.4% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 17% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.
