China prevails in exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. 85% of total exports in 2021. Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), India (X tons) and Vietnam (X tons) held a little share of total exports.

Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, the Philippines, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan (Chinese), New Zealand and Cambodia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 41%.

Among the main importing countries, Cambodia, with a CAGR of +31.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 2.1% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.8%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 an increase of 9.4%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the Philippines ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
