Based on 2022 figures, export price for pure polyvinyl chloride in primary forms increased by +37.1% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the export price increased by 55%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, imports of pure polyvinyl chloride in primary forms shrank to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, India (X tons) was the main importer of pure polyvinyl chloride in primary forms, mixing up 47% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Vietnam (X tons), China (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons) and Australia (X tons), together mixing up a 37% share of total imports. Malaysia (X tons) and Cambodia (X tons) took a relatively small share of total imports.

In value terms, India ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pure polyvinyl chloride in primary forms in Asia-Pacific, comprising 49% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in India stood at +41.1%. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Vietnam (+16.5% per year) and China (-6.7% per year).
