In 2022, India (X tons), Japan (X tons), China (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) was the main exporter of printing ink in Asia-Pacific, comprising 70% of total export. It was distantly followed by Singapore (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), together making up a 13% share of total exports. Indonesia (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

In Japan, printing ink exports remained relatively stable over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (+1.5% per year) and India (+5.3% per year).

In 2022, Australia (X tons), Vietnam (X tons), Bangladesh (X tons), Indonesia (X tons), India (X tons), Malaysia (X tons), Singapore (X tons), Thailand (X tons), China (X tons), the Philippines (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) and Hong Kong SAR (X tons) was the main importer of printing ink in Asia-Pacific, committing 84% of total import.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Bangladesh (with a CAGR of +8.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, China ($X), India ($X) and Thailand ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, together comprising 32% of total imports. Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong SAR, the Philippines, Taiwan (Chinese) and Bangladesh lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 53%.
Bangladesh, with a CAGR of +10.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -12.9% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 9.9%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Bangladesh ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Hong Kong SAR (+7.6%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
