In general, exports recorded a noticeable shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 113% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, aircraft propeller exports dropped to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when exports increased by 41%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Australia (X tons), China (X tons), Singapore (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) represented roughly 56% of total exports in 2022. Indonesia (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total exports with an 8.3% share, followed by South Korea (7.8%), Malaysia (6.2%) and India (4.9%). Sri Lanka (X tons) took a relatively small share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Sri Lanka (with a CAGR of +67.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Australia ($X), Singapore ($X) and Thailand ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 61% share of total exports. China, India, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia and Sri Lanka lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 21%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Sri Lanka, with a CAGR of +35.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 148% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while Sri Lanka ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Australia (+16.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Asia-Pacific
In 2022, aircraft propeller imports in Asia-Pacific declined to X tons, dropping by -10.7% on 2021. Overall, imports, however, posted measured growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 78% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined in the following year.
In value terms, aircraft propeller imports stood at $X in 2022. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -10.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 34% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Indonesia (X tons) represented the key importer of propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes, comprising 48% of total imports. Australia (X tons) held the second position in the ranking, followed by Singapore (X tons), Japan (X tons) and South Korea (X tons). All these countries together held approx. 33% share of total imports. Malaysia (X tons) and China (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Indonesia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the propellers and rotors for civil non-powered aircraft, helicopters and aeroplanes imports, with a CAGR of +18.0% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, South Korea (+8.2%), Malaysia (+7.7%), China (+7.4%) and Singapore (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. By contrast, Japan (-1.6%) and Australia (-3.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2022, the share of Indonesia and South Korea increased by +35 and +2.4 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

Among the main importing countries, Indonesia, with a CAGR of +25.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, increasing by 13% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the import price increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.
