Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, liquid dispensing pump exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, China (X units) was the major exporter of pumps for dispensing liquids, constituting 62% of total exports. It was distantly followed by India (X units), committing a 21% share of total exports. The following exporters - South Korea (X units), Thailand (X units), Japan (X units) and Australia (X units) - together made up 14% of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +7.8% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Australia (+26.1%) and India (+14.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Australia emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +26.1% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Japan (-3.6%), South Korea (-5.1%) and Thailand (-9.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (+36 p.p.), India (+16 p.p.) and Australia (+2.8 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of Thailand (-3.3 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest liquid dispensing pump supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with an 8.7% share of total exports. It was followed by India, with a 4.5% share.

In China, liquid dispensing pump exports increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Japan (+0.6% per year) and India (-1.7% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, picking up by 4.9% against the previous year. Export price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +35.6% from 2012-2021. Vietnam experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Japan (-10.1%), Indonesia (-11.0%), Thailand (-12.5%) and South Korea (-13.5%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of China, India, Bangladesh and Taiwan (Chinese) increased by +26, +9.5, +5.7 and +4.1 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported pumps for dispensing liquids in Asia-Pacific, comprising 51% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Korea ($X), with a 7.1% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 4.4% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at +6.6%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: South Korea (-0.6% per year) and Thailand (-9.5% per year).
