As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Exports by Country
China was the largest exporter of razors in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. 56% of total exports in 2021. Vietnam (X tons) took a 25% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Hong Kong SAR (6%) and India (5.5%). The following exporters - Singapore (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) - each resulted at a 4.1% share of total exports.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Vietnam (+21.8%) and Singapore (+11.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +21.8% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Hong Kong SAR (-3.1%), South Korea (-5.7%) and India (-8.3%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of Vietnam (+20 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of South Korea (-2.1 p.p.), Hong Kong SAR (-3.9 p.p.) and India (-9.5 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Hong Kong SAR ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, together accounting for 86% of total exports.
In terms of the main exporting countries, Vietnam, with a CAGR of +23.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, with an increase of 12% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+5.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in Asia-Pacific
In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of razors, when their volume increased by 12% to X tons. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of 23% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, razor imports rose remarkably to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.6% over the period from 2012 to 2021; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being observed throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Japan represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which amounted to 26% of total imports. Hong Kong SAR (X tons) took a 9.6% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Australia (8.3%), South Korea (7.5%), China (7.1%), Indonesia (6.9%), Singapore (5.5%) and Vietnam (4.8%). India (X tons), Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), Thailand (X tons), the Philippines (X tons) and New Zealand (X tons) held a little share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to razor imports into Japan stood at +2.2%. At the same time, Vietnam (+21.0%), China (+7.9%), Singapore (+7.8%), Indonesia (+6.9%), India (+6.2%), the Philippines (+5.2%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+3.8%), Thailand (+3.2%) and New Zealand (+1.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Vietnam emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +21.0% from 2012-2021. South Korea experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, Australia (-4.3%) and Hong Kong SAR (-6.1%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Japan, Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Singapore and India increased by +4, +3.9, +3.4, +3, +2.6 and +1.6 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Japan ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported razors in Asia-Pacific, comprising 27% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Australia, with an 8.7% share.
In Japan, razor imports increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Hong Kong SAR (-3.5% per year) and Australia (-2.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 1.8% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when the import price increased by 7.8% against the previous year. The level of import peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
