Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +73.1% from 2012-2021. From 2012 to 2021, the share of India, China and Vietnam increased by +7.1, +5.1 and +3.9 percentage points, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X), China ($X) and India ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 96% share of total imports.

India, with a CAGR of +62.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 149% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate notable growth. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
