Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, India (+11.5%), Vietnam (+7.8%), Thailand (+7.4%), Taiwan (Chinese) (+4.0%), South Korea (+3.9%) and Malaysia (+3.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +11.5% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Indonesia (-1.2%) and Hong Kong SAR (-8.2%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+2.6 p.p.) and India (+2.4 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Indonesia and Hong Kong SAR saw its share reduced by -1.9% and -3.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest paper bag supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 78% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 3.1% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 2.7% share.
