Total exports indicated a noticeable expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +58.0% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 19% against the previous year. All these countries together held approx. 16% share of total exports. Vietnam (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, India (+76.4%), Thailand (+44.8%) and Vietnam (+27.2%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, India emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +76.4% from 2012-2021. While the share of India (+9.1 p.p.), Thailand (+5.9 p.p.) and Vietnam (+3.1 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total exports from 2012-2021, the share of China (-16.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest bed-convertible seat supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 85% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 7.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 6.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in China stood at +2.5%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Vietnam (+28.2% per year) and Thailand (+30.6% per year).
