The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +55.7% against 2019 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, self-propelled bulldozer exports soared to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. India was the major exporting country with an export of around X units, which finished at 39% of total exports. Australia (X units) took an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by South Korea (15%), Singapore (14%) and China (10%).

India was also the fastest-growing in terms of the self-propelled bulldozers and excavators exports, with a CAGR of +19.3% from 2012 to 2021. Among the main exporting countries, India, with a CAGR of +19.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, approximately mirroring the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a abrupt setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the export price increased by 37% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per unit), while Australia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+0.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators, when their volume increased by 25% to X units. Overall, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 37%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2018 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, self-propelled bulldozer imports surged to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible contraction. The level of import peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, the Philippines (X units) and India (X units) represented the largest importers of self-propelled bulldozers and excavators in Asia-Pacific, together reaching near 36% of total imports. Vietnam (X units) held a 10% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Nepal (9.9%), Pakistan (7.2%) and Singapore (5.7%). Malaysia (X units), Bangladesh (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units), Myanmar (X units), Thailand (X units), New Zealand (X units) and Cambodia (X units) held a minor share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Vietnam (with a CAGR of +41.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported self-propelled bulldozers and excavators in Asia-Pacific, comprising 22% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Singapore ($X), with a 9.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Pakistan, with an 8.2% share.

In Vietnam, self-propelled bulldozer imports expanded at an average annual rate of +43.8% over the period from 2012-2021. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Singapore (-13.2% per year) and Pakistan (+9.2% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2021, the import price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, growing by 4.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a pronounced decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the import price increased by 12%. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per unit), while the Philippines ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
