China was the main exporter of semiconductor thyristors, diacs and triacs in Asia-Pacific, with the volume of exports recording X units, which was near 61% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Hong Kong SAR (X units), Singapore (X units) and Japan (X units), together constituting a 33% share of total exports. The following exporters - South Korea (X units) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) - each accounted for a 5.3% share of total exports.

The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest semiconductor thyristor supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 55% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with a 25% share of total exports. It was followed by Singapore, with a 6.7% share.
In China, semiconductor thyristor exports increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the period from 2012-2022. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+5.3% per year) and Singapore (+7.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the export price in Asia-Pacific amounted to $X per unit, declining by -23.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 28% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports recorded strong growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, semiconductor thyristor imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a prominent increase. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
India (X units) and Hong Kong SAR (X units) prevails in imports structure, together comprising 70% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Singapore (X units), creating a 6.4% share of total imports. Japan (X units), Thailand (X units), Indonesia (X units), South Korea (X units), China (X units), Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) and Malaysia (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +24.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X), Hong Kong SAR ($X) and China ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2022, with a combined 79% share of total imports.
Among the main importing countries, India, with a CAGR of +22.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, import prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
