The Philippines (X tons) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a 6.5% share, followed by Indonesia (5.6%) and Vietnam (4.9%). The following importers - Malaysia (X tons), China (X tons), Thailand (X tons), South Korea (X tons) and New Zealand (X tons) - each finished at a 15% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Vietnam (with a CAGR of +19.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Australia ($X), Singapore ($X) and Indonesia ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, together accounting for 40% of total imports.

Indonesia, with a CAGR of +19.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per ton in 2021, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +3.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020, and then fell slightly in the following year.
