Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a noticeable downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 30% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports from China decreased at an average annual rate of -2.5% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Pakistan (+5.9%), Myanmar (+3.4%) and Bangladesh (+2.1%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Pakistan emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +5.9% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Democratic People's Republic of Korea (-7.3%) and Vietnam (-12.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. China (+3.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Vietnam saw its share reduced by -2.8% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X) remains the largest ski-suit supplier in Asia-Pacific, comprising 84% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 4.9% share of total exports. It was followed by Democratic People's Republic of Korea, with a 4% share.

In China, ski-suit exports shrank by an average annual rate of -3.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Vietnam (-7.4% per year) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (-2.4% per year).

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Asia-Pacific stood at $X per unit in 2021, rising by 8.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2017 to 2021, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Moreover, New Zealand emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Asia-Pacific, with a CAGR of +18.2% from 2012-2021. By contrast, Vietnam (-1.4%), Australia (-8.9%), Hong Kong SAR (-10.9%), South Korea (-16.8%) and China (-30.0%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Singapore, Taiwan (Chinese), New Zealand, Hong Kong SAR and Australia increased by +4.1, +2.8, +2.1, +2 and +1.7 percentage points, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
